Bust the Stigma on Ageism

Meet Charlotte

I am a pro-age advocate, model, and speaker redefining what it means to thrive at midlife and beyond.

As the founder of Style with Charlotte, I champion confidence, visibility, and authentic self-expression, using fashion and storytelling to resist ageist stereotypes.

My work is rooted in the belief that aging is a privilege, not a limitation, and she’s passionate about creating spaces where women and femmes of all ages feel empowered to embrace every chapter of their lives with boldness and joy.

I also believe that much of our cultural fear of aging may reflect a deeper fear of mortality—a topic she continues to explore personally, especially now as she supports her 89-year-old mother in navigating the next chapter of her care and independence.

Why is aging something you’ve chosen to celebrate, especially as a woman in a youth-obsessed culture?

For me, aging is not something to hide from—it’s something to own. I choose to celebrate aging because it tells the story of who I am: my growth, resilience, and evolving identity.

In a culture that often sidelines women as they age, I see visibility as an act of defiance and self-love.

I’m here to challenge the outdated idea that beauty, relevance, or joy have an expiry date. Instead of shrinking back, I believe midlife is when we expand.

You say “not everyone gets the privilege of growing old”—how has loss or perspective shaped that view?

That belief is deeply personal to me. Over the years, I’ve witnessed friends, peers, and even icons like Princess Diana and Michael Jackson—my contemporaries—leave this world far too soon.

My earliest memory of loss was at age 5, learning that a classmate’s 2-year-old sibling had died from crib death. These experiences stayed with me.

Every year I get to live, grow, and evolve is a privilege denied to so many. That’s why I hold aging close to my heart; it’s a daily reminder that being here, in this moment, is a gift.

Your platform is rooted in self-expression and visibility, but you’ve been clear that you’re not a stylist offering services. How do you define your advocacy work, and how does your style reflect who you are rather than something you “do” for others?

My pro-age advocacy comes through modelling, speaking, contributing to print media, and using my social media presence to keep the conversation alive.

Style with Charlotte isn’t a business offering styling services—it’s a platform where I live by example. Style, to me, is a form of self-expression and resistance.

Every time I step in front of a camera, speak at an event, or post online, I show that aging isn’t about fading away—it’s about showing up.

I’m not here to tell others how to dress or present themselves, but to inspire by embodying confidence, boldness, and joy at every age.

I hope that others see my example and feel free to express their own unique style on their own terms.

What advice would you give to younger women who are afraid of aging or trying to "preserve youth"?

My biggest piece of advice? Stop fighting time—walk with it. Aging is inevitable, but how we show up in that journey is a choice.

Invest in your passions, your friendships, and your well-being. Understand that youth isn’t your only currency—your experience, wisdom, and self-knowledge grow richer over time.

I would also remind them that beauty evolves; it’s not lost. The goal isn’t to “preserve” youth—it’s to live fully, and trust that every phase of life has its own powerful magic.
